Cowaramup Community - Our History Pre War

The Settlers farmed crops and grasses and, although they varied in breed and were doubtful in quality, they were issued with cows purchased from State Dairy Farmers.

The first flock of sheep were introduced in 1934 and cattle in the 1960’s

In 1934 the Settlers were forced, by Agricultural Bank policy and action, to quit their farms and only some 35% of farms were occupied in the latter pre war years.
