Cowaramup Community - Our History Wine Production

Although the first wine producer in the area was in operation prior to 1920, the first small vineyard was established in 1967 (“Vasse Felix”).

Wine production increased exponentially since the early 1970s when Margaret River’s potential was first realized and the Victoria Hotel in Subiaco actively promoted Western Australian and Margaret River wines.

Today, the area’s wineries are concentrated between Cowaramup and Yallingup and the region attracts over 500,000 people each year.
